SAP

What is SAP? Texaco branded dealers were converted to a software platform last year called SAP. The Shell System is in the process of conversion.

Following are processes that do not change with the January 1, 1999   implementation:
For Retailers and Jobbers

  • Price notification
  • Dispatch number used for ordering product (Retailers continue to use the TAC number)
  • Product ordering and terminal rack control
  • Format on Bills of Lading and Invoices
  • Distribution process for Bill of Lading and Invoices
  • Customer support lines for Invoice Problems. 8 individuals each for Equilon and Motiva (16 total) will be available to respond to that number for Retailer assistance. 2 individuals each for Equilon and Motiva (4 total) will be available to respond to that number for Jobber assistance. The help line numbers are 800-825-8660 for Equilon and 800-825-7335 for Motiva.
  • Customer Support lines for Credit Card inquiries
  • Price notification support
  • Credit Card credit deposits (POS)
  • Material Safety Data Sheet distribution
  • Any basic contractual conditions unless they were coincidentally subject to revisions by non-SAP issues
  • Credit terms
  • Credit lines
  • Volumetric rebate programs

  • Formula Shell Product names and codes

Following are the Processes that will change:
For Retailers

  • Retailers will be assigned a new 6 digit customer number that will appear on their settlement statement. This number will not be utilized for any of the processes outside of the Accounts Receivable area. There will not be any formal notification of this new number as it will not be normally used by the customer for any business process
  • EFT payments for product loads will now be drafted by SAP from the customer’s bank account. The Retailer will not likely notice any change in this process except that the new SAP customer number will probably appear on the EFT record from the customer’s bank.
  • Transitional Rebate Program– Credits for this program will be processed through SAP effective with the December rebate, which should arrive about 1/8/99. The Retailer will get his EFT settlement notice by U.S.. Mail which will likely arrive after the money is deposited. This problem should be corrected by 2/1/99.

  • ODEOM Program– Credits for this program will be processed through SAP effective with the December rebate. The Retailer will get his EFT settlement notice by U.S. Mail, which will likely arrive after the money is deposited. This problem should be corrected by 2/1/99.

1999 Nascar and Cart Suite Sponsorship Program

Many of the customers in the Motiva Marketing regions are familiar with the Racing Suite Sponsorship Program. For those of you that are not, this is your opportunity to become a partner in the 1999 NASCAR & CART Shell and Texaco Motorsports Programs. As you know, Shell no longer sponsors a car in the NASCAR series, however, Winston Cup suites and tickets are still available for Shell customers.

A sponsorship fee of $1,200 will allow you to purchase, in advance, suite tickets (where available) at certain races and/or grandstand tickets and hospitality passes (where available). The number of sponsorships per customer is limited to six.

Please advise your sales consultant by January 20, 1999 or fax your request to:
Tammy Szucs, Jurgensen at 843-815-4001 by January 25th.

Sponsorship Opportunities:

  • Four (4) Suite tickets (where available). Daytona 500 grandstand tickets and

  • Two (2) Suite tickets (where available) and four (4) Grandstand tickets to the race of your choice. $1,200*
  • If you desire a race where we do not have a suite, you may request eight (8) Grandstand tickets and  hospitality (where available). $1,200
  • NASCAR tickets and hospitality (where available) may be purchased at Face Value of Ticket plus shipping. (Tickets range from $75 to $120 each; hospitality costs range from $85 to $150*. Tickets and hospitality will be invoiced.
