Chrysler "First Fill Program" Five Star Market Center

The Chrysler "Five Star Market Center" is a new e-commerce initiative launched by DaimlerChrysler for the benefit of Chrysler dealerships in the United States. For th motor fuels category, both gasoline and diesel fuel, Equilon and Motiva, on behalf of the Shell and Texaco brands, have been successful in negotiating a 2-year participation agreement. Following for your review is specific information pertaining to the launch of this program:

Chrysler dealerships that sign up for the program will use the Shell Fleet Plus Card to make motor fuel purchases at Shell or Texaco retail sites, earning a discount of $.045 per gallon off the posted pump price at the time of billing.

Dealerships will be billed once per month by DaimlerChrysler for all motor fuel purchases made on the Shell Fleet Plus Card

The discount of $.045 per gallon being offered to the Chrysler dealerships is being paid by Equilon and Motiva. The shell and Texaco retail sites are not participating in this discount.

Should Shell or Texaco retail site wish to increase the amount of the discount being offered in order to acquire the business of a local Chrysler dealership from a competitor, we can accommodate this option through our EPOS network. A retail site wishing to increase the per gallon discount at their specific location only, can make such arrangements by calling Mr. Raed Salab at The Associates, 281-754-1716. The amount of the increased discount will be the expense of the requesting Shell or Texaco retail location.

There are 4,500 Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth and Jeep Dealerships in the United States.

Chrysler dealership’s estimated annual fuel requirements = 50 million gallons.

Participation by Chrysler dealerships in the "First Fill Program" is on a voluntary basis.

Mobil tightens up consumer credit with policy revamp.
Mobil is changing the way it reviews creditworthiness for its proprietary credit card.

The new effort is part of a plan to add as many as 800,000 new Mobil and Exxon credit card accounts this year. It will also allow GE to approve a higher percentage of credit card applications and resume mailing of pre-approved card solicitations, says Mobil. GE established limits on Exxon credit cards in September 1998, the company notes.
